concurrence letter from the Wildlife Resources Commission and
requesting issuance of 401 Water Quality Certification from the
N. C. Division Of Environmental Management.
We have attached a site location map, and a sketch of planned
activities. A stringent erosion and sedimentation control
program will be implemented during the project construction and
every effort will be made to complete work in a timely manner.

Upon review of your request for 401 Water Quality
Certification to place fill material in waters which are
tributary to Burris Creek for bridge replacement located at SR
1340 in Surry County, we have determined that the proposed fill
can be covered by General Water Quality Certification No. 2735
issued January 21, 1992. A Copy of the General Certification is
attached. This Certification may be used in qualifying for
coverage under Corps of Engineers' General Permit No. 031.
