The Mayo Steam Station is beginning the process of installing sand filters to aid in tss removal during the ash basin
decanting and dewatering process. The NPDES permit requires that notification be made to the DWR NPDES Permitting
and DWR Raleigh Regional Office in writing within seven calendar days of installing any additional physical -chemical
treatment. The installation process will take 2 to 3 weeks with an anticipated completion date of early July. Please let
me know if you have questions or if either of you need any additional information before these filters are placed in
service. Thank you.
