Subject: Tier 2 Stormwater Monitoring;
Stormwater Permit COC# NCG080879
City of Charlotte Light Vehicle Maintenance Facility
1031 Atando Avenue
Charlotte, NC 28206
600 N. Davidson Strcct
Charlotte, NC 28202
Analytical results that showed the facility had exceeded the TSS benchmark for the
second consecutive time were received on June 11, 2014 for the Stormwater monitoring
performed on May 15, 2014. No measurable storm event that resulted in an actual
discharge from the permitted outfall (outfall 001) occurred for the remainder of June
during the facility's normal operating; hours after receiving the analytical results. As a
result ofthe lack of measurable storm events, Tier 2 monitoring was not performed
during the month OHL= 2014.
The Light Vehicle Maintenance facility was granted a relief from monthly monitoring on
July 7, 2014. Tier 2 monitoring; has been suspended until September 30, 2014 as per the
letter issued by Mr. Zahid S. Khan. During this time, the facility will be working towards
having the onsite BMP repaired to prevent further benchmark exceedances.
Sincerely,
Craig Miller
