Subject: DMR Submission
Novo Nordisk-DAPI-US
Period 2 - 2019
COC No. NCG0604O2
To whom it may concern,
In accordance with General Permit No. NCG060000, the site completed stormwater
outfall sampling for Period 2 of 2019 on December 17, 2019. Lab results were provided
on January 17, 2020. This sampling represents the first conducted since issuance of
the certificate of coverage to the site dated November 8, 2019. The attached discharge
monitoring report documents the results of the sampling.
Please note that Outfall 001 sample location is marked as'INACCESSIBLE'. During the
observed storm event, Outfall 001 was the last point to be sampled. While obtaining
the sample, the concrete riser was noted to have incorporated two large sections of
cast iron grates on top, making the pond outlet discharge point inaccessible. Further,
the final discharge of this outfall is carried underground to a comingled outfall with the
facility across the road. As such, alternate sampling was not pursued.
In response, the site will replace the cast iron grates with a lighter material to facilitate
opening and obtaining a sample. Therefore, a sample will be obtained for Outfall 001,
and results included with the Period 1 - 2020_monitoring report.
Sincerely,
.sue o

' Only applies to facilities that use/process meats.
2The total precipitation must be recorded using data from an on -site rain gauge.
3 For sampling periods with no discharge at any outfalls. You must still submit this discharge monitoring report with a checkmark here.
'See General Permit text, Table 1, identifying the especially sensitive receiving water classifications where the more protective benchmark applies.
'Monthly sampling (instead of semi-annual) must begin with the second consecutive benchmark exceedance for the same parameter at the same outfall.
