American Emerald Mines, Inc. for their mine in Hiddenite (Alexander County) for coverage of their gemstone mine under NCG02 (Mining SW/WW permit). The site discharges stormwater and mine dewatering water into Wallace Creek and the South Yadkin River (both WS-II, HOW) through three settling basins. The NOI is attached. Their Mining Permit (02-06) from DLR was revised 10/26/05, and it looks like you guys already notified them that this site needed an NPDES stormwater permit as well (a copy of the MRC letter was attached). Does the Mooresville Regional Office have any concerns about issuing this facility a COC for this general permit, and are there any potential impacts to wetlands? If we don't receive any objections, we'll issue the COC in 30 days, pending DEH approval.
