Project Description 3a. Describe the existing conditions on the site and the general land use in the vicinity of the project at the time of this application: There is debris in the stream from previous cross assist attempts. Area is used as a pass thru and as such clearings are developing on both sides of the stream and more paths in the general area. 3b. Attach an 8'/2 x 11 excerpt from the most recent version of the USGS topographic map indicating the location of the site 3c. Attach an 8'/2 x 11 excerpt from the most recent version of the published County NRCS Soil Survey Map depicting the project site 3d. List the total estimated linear feet of all existing streams (intermittent and perennial) on the property: 21 3e. Explain the purpose of the proposed project: Provide a footbridge to allow for safe crossing of the stream which should also discourage other makeshift bridge attempts that are unsafe and end up cluttering the stream. 3f. Describe the overall project in detail, including the type of equipment to be used: Build the footbridge in my yard. Remove makeshift bridge and debris. Carry and place footbridge over steam. It would be made of treated wood (same as I would use for a deck) and held together with deck screws and bolts. It should rest flat on the ground 3ft on each side of the stream and still cover the 6ft span over the stream. At present, I was not going to use posts to hold the bridge in place or install railings. I figured the HOA or ACE or DWR would let me know if they wanted posts or railings. 4. Comments: Footbridge would be semi -permanent. Since it is just sitting there, it can be removed if needed but the intent is to leave it there permanently. D. Impact Justification and Mitigation 1. Avoidance and Minimization 1 a. Specifically describe measures taken to avoid or minimize the proposed impacts in designing project. The footbridge is just replacing the prior crossing attempts. Some debris may still be left if it is determined that it is currently something's home. No part of the natural buffer itself is being removed or displaced (other than from post holes if requested). 1 b. Specifically describe measures taken to avoid or minimize the proposed impacts through construction techniques. Construction would be done in yard and then footbridge would be carried to stream when done. 2. Buffer Mitigation 2a. Will the project result in an impact within a protected riparian buffer that requires buffer mitigation? ❑ Yes ® No 2b. If yes, then identify the square feet of impact to each zone of the riparian buffer that requires mitigation and calculate the amount of mitigation required in the table below.
