Summary
This is a Major Modification for American Zinc Products, LLC. The permit is being
modified to extend the Cadmium Compliance Schedule. The schedule must be changed due
to the catastrophic fire that occurred at the facility on April 18, 2019. As a result of the fire
the production startup of the facility has been delayed until second quarter of the 2020.
Therefore, all the milestones in the compliance scheduled must be updated.
All the remaining terms and conditions of the permit remain unchanged.
Proposed Schedule for Permit Issuance
Per 15A NCAC 2H .0109 & .0111, The Division will receive comments for a period of 30
days following the publication date of the public notice. Any request for a public hearing
shall be submitted to the Director within the 30-day comment period indicating the interest
of the party filing such request and the reasons why a hearing is warranted.
