It is suspected that there is a substantial amount of infiltration entering the collection system. Currently a master plan is being engineered for the Town's approval which will outline sewer priorities so that the Town can take measures to address these issues. The plan will outline the repairs which need to be made to both the collection system and the waste water plant. The plan will outline sewer line inspection and assessment, line abandonment, and rehab or replacement of existing lines. These Regulations place significant operation, maintenance and reporting requirements on those entities that own or operate a wastewater collection system with average daily flows of less than 200,000 gallons per day. These regulations are applicable to your facility. This letter is provided as guidance to assist you in complying with the new reporting and operations and maintenance (O&M) requirements and to advise you that you are subject to system review, inspections and possible enforcement, if the system is not in compliance with the regulation. For your convenience and easy reference, a highlight of these requirements and the following guidance are offered (see enclosed).
