This information with be in regards to Waste Site 3. This is the area that silt went off site around 4-8 CY of silt is estimated to have gone off site and entered a JS. Clean up is underway in these areas once all areas have been sufficiently cleaned I will send follow up pictures. All production work on the job site has been shut down until erosion control measures and silt is cleaned. A couple of the last photos here show clean up already completed in some areas around waste site 3. I'll look forward to the detailed report from the assistant engineer. Be sure that it includes photos of the basin and tributary to confirm repair & clean up. Also a markup of the plan sheet for the site showing the site location as it relates to the stream for our records. At that time I can assess if need be to do site inspection. The loss came from the failure of a large sediment basin that was overwhelmed by a rain event that was reported to have dropped 3 inches of rain on the site in about 30-40 minuets. The project inspectors only discovered the loss after they were able to access the site after it had dried enough for them to enter it. I am not sure when the event took place The estimated material loss is around 8 cubic yards. I visited the site yesterday and the contractor had already started the cleanup process. They have also started repairs to the erosion control devices that were damaged. Fortunately the sediment loss was mostly confined to a small tributary through a wooded area and did not reach the larger creeks. The contractor is removing the material from the wooded area by hand. The Assistant Resident is putting together a more detailed report that I will forward to you when I receive it.
