Inspection Summary:
On June 4, 2020 this facility was visited in response to a technical inquiry made by the permittee. The primary reason for the
visit was to discuss a change in the stormwater infrastructure and ouffall locations. I met with Lucy Crocker and Michelle
Hedrich on site. During the visit, the following items were discussed:
1) Outfall locations are ultimately up to the permittee to designate and justify. The Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan
should include the reasons for the nature and placement of the outfall. The primary thing to consider is that the monitoring
point shall be located beyond any potential impact from the industrial process, on the permittee's property, and before it
makes contact with surface waters. Sampling at the riser in the basin (as discussed on site) is an acceptable monitoring
point. However, the facility inspections conducted by the permittee should include the ouffall location to confirm that
excessive erosion at the ouffall is not taking place.
2) Non stormwater discharge (such as ground water or springs) should be evaluated, classified and explained in the
stormwater pollution prevention plan.
3) Representative Outfall Status may be re -applied for concerning the new permit cycle.
If you have any questions, please contact this office at (828) 296-4614
