Subject: Surface Water and Sediment Assessment for the Former Intake Canal Work Plan
Comments
Riverbend Steam Station
Dear Mr. Draovitch:
On April 3, 2020, the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Division of Water
Resources (Division) received the proposed Surface Water and Sediment Assessment for the Former Intake
Canal Work Plan (Plan) for the Riverbend Steam Station. On April 29, 2020, the Division's Mooresville
Regional Office recommended proceeding with the proposed plan with the following comment.
® Please add RBSW-08 to be sampled. during this sampling event. Manganese was noted to be more
than twice the observed concentrations at up -gradient locations (RBSW-01 and RBSW-02) and a
confirmatory sample is warranted
Any modifications or revisions to the approved revised Plan will need to be reviewed and approved by the
DWR prior to implementation. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Andrew Pitner
(Mooresville Regional Office) at (704) 663-1699 or Steve Lanter (Central Office) at (919) 707-3667.
Sincere,
f
