1. IF NATIVE TOPSOIL ON SITE IS TO BE UTILIZED, A SOIL ANALYSIS SHOULD BE CONDUCTED TO DETERMINE THE VIABILITY OF SOILS FOR HEALTHY VEGETATION
GROWTH. IMPORTED OR IN -SITU SOILS MAY BE AMENDED WITH ORGANIC MATERIAL, DEPENDING ON SOIL ANALYSIS TO ENHANCE THE SUITABILITY AS PLANTING
MEDIA. CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT RESULTS OF SOIL ANALYSIS TO LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT FOR APPROVAL PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION.
2. THE STORMWATER WETLAND SHALL BE UTILIZED AS A TEMPORARY SEDIMENT BASIN DURING CONSTRUCTION.
2.1. SCHEDULE THE FOLLOWING WORK TO COINCIDE WITH AN EXTENDED FORECAST OF NO PRECIPITATION SUCH THAT ALL WORK CAN BE COMPLETED DURING A
PERIOD OF DRY WEATHER. INSTALL COFFER DAM UPSTREAM OF POND IN CASE OF ANY UNEXPECTED PRECIPITATION EVENT. UTILIZE MUD PUMP WITH
FLOATING SUCTION INLET THROUGH A SEDIMENT FILTER BAG LOCATED DOWNSTREAM OF BASIN.
2.2. INSTALL WETLAND BARREL, OUTLET STRUCTURE, EMBANKMENT, EMERGENCY SPILLWAY AND OTHER WETLAND COMPONENTS.
2.3. CALL FOR SITE INSPECTION PRIOR TO BACKFILLING WETLAND BARREL.
2.4. INSTALL TEMPORARY SKIMMER ON WETLAND DRAIN. DRAIN VALVE TO REMAIN OPEN.
2.5. EXCAVATE WETLAND TO TEMPORARY SKIMMER BASIN DIMENSIONS, SEE EROSION CONTROL PLAN.
2.6. INSTALL BAFFLES AND OTHER TEMPORARY SKIMMER BASIN COMPONENTS, SEE TEMPORARY SKIMMER BASIN DETAIL.
2.7. SEED ALL DISTURBED AREAS.
3. FOLLOWING COMPLETION OF CONSTRUCTION AND STABILIZATION OF POND DRAINAGE BASIN, PERFORM THE FOLLOWING:
3.2. REMOVE TEMPORARY BAFFLES.
3.3. REMOVE ALL ACCUMULATED SEDIMENT. GRADE WETLAND INTERIOR TO SUBGRADE ELEVATIONS.
3.4. INSTALL CLAY LINER AND ARMORED SECTIONS OF FOREBAY WEIRS.
3.5. IF ADDITIONAL DE -WATERING IS NEEDED BELOW DRAIN/SKIMMER ELEVATION, UTILIZE A MUD PUMP WITH FLOATING SUCTION INLET AND DISCHARGE
REMAINING WATER THROUGH A SEDIMENT FILTER BAG LOCATED OUTSIDE OF THE BASIN. MONITOR PUMPING TO ENSURE FLOW DOES NOT EXCEED THE
CAPACITY OF FILTER BAG.
3.6. INSTALL AND FINE GRADE TOPSOIL TO FINISH GRADES. IF SOIL AMENDMENTS ARE REQUIRED PER THE SOIL ANALYSIS, THE SOIL IS TO BE AMENDED TO A
DEPTH OF 12" PER THE STATE REQUIREMENTS.
3.7. INSTALL TEMPORARY SLOPE LININGS.
3.8. REMOVE TEMPORARY CAP/BLOCKING FROM PRIMARY SPILLWAY.
3.9. INSTALL WETLAND PLANTINGS.
3.9. FOLLOWING APPROVAL OF SURVEY, REMOVE TEMPORARY SKIMMER AND CLOSE DRAIN VALVE.
3.10. FILL POND AND MONITOR WATER SURFACE ELEVATION FOR 48 HOURS. WATER SURFACE SHALL REMAIN WITHIN ONE INCH OF PERMANENT POOL
ELEVATION. IF WATER LEVEL DROPS ONE INCH, NOTIFY ARCHITECT AND INVESTIGATE OUTLET BARREL, OUTLET STRUCTURE AND EMBANKMENT FOR LEAKS
OR DEFECTS. MAKE REPAIRS IF REQUIRED AND FILL POND AND REPEAT WATER ELEVATION MONITORING. IF WATER LEVEL REMAINS WITHIN TOLERANCE,
NOTIFY ARCHITECT AND PERFORM DETAILED TOPOGRAPHIC SURVEY.
