The existing rip rap will be "tamped in" and the excess rip rap will be removed from the stream by hand. However, if the DWR recommends a pump around, then the attached detail will describe the methods to be used. Please provide additional information and details regarding how Condition II. 9 of GC 4139 will be met so that "all work in or adjacent to streams shall be conducted so that the flowing stream does not come in contact with the disturbed area." Send all suspicious email as an attachment to F73TWam @ nc. g ov Mr. Brown and Ms. Yankura, The following is a response to the Corps comments on April 23, 2020 and DWR comments on May 11, 2020. The request for additional information pertaining to the stream enhancement activities at the Blacksmith Run Lot 72 permit application was received on April 23, 2020. 1. The applicant will use the existing rip rap to construct a riffle (see attached typical detail) that will function as grade control within the relocated stream channel. Existing rip -rap will be embedded (tamped in) in the stream bed. Excess rip rap will be removed in areas that are unnecessary. Live stakes will be planted within the areas described in the permit application. Andrew Bick, PE with Headwaters Engineering, PC has agreed to be on site and oversee the stream enhancement activities. The relocated stream channel will be visually monitored following construction.
