NOTICE OF A PUBLIC MEETING ON THE PROPOSED WIDENING OF
US 220 BUSINESS & SR 2270 (US 311 EXTENSION) FROM
SR 2261 (OLD LIBERTY ROAD) TO US 220 BYPASS
TIP Project No. U-3600
Randolph County
The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) will hold a
Public Meeting on September 25, 2007 between the hours of 4:30 p.m. and 7:30
p.m. at the North Asheboro Middle School, 1861 North Asheboro School Road,
Asheboro, 27203.
NCDOT representatives will be available to answer questions and receive
comments relative to median breaks and intersections added as a result of
comments received after the recent public hearing. Interested citizens may
attend at any time during the above-mentioned hours. Please note there will be
no formal presentation.
NCDOT proposes to widen US 220 Business (North Fayetteville Street)
and SR 2270 (US 311 Extension), from SR 2261 (Old Liberty Road) to US 220
Bypass, to a four-lane, median divided roadway with full movement intersections
and directional crossovers. The purpose of the project is to improve safety and
traffic- carrying capacity. The project is about 5.0 miles long. Additional right of
way and the relocation of homes and businesses will be required for this project.

NCDOT will provide auxiliary aids and services under the Americans with
