PROPOSED TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENTS TO VILLAGE ROAD (SR 1472)
FROM OLD FAYETTEVILLE ROAD (SR 1437) / NAVASSA ROAD (SR 1435)

The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) will hold a
Public Meeting on Monday, October 8, 2007 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and
7:00 p.m. at the Belville Elementary School Cafeteria located at 575 River Road
SE, Leland, 28451.
NCDOT representatives will be available in an informal setting to answer
questions and receive comments relative to the proposed project. Interested
individuals may attend this informal workshop at their convenience during the
above stated hours. Please note there will be no formal presentation.
The purpose of this meeting is to present information, answer questions,
and receive comments regarding the proposed design modifications to this project.
NCDOT in cooperation with the Town of Leland proposes to widen Village Road
(SR 1472) from Old Fayetteville Road (SR 1437) / Navassa Road (SR 1435) to the
US 17 Ramps. Village Road (SR 1472) is proposed to become a four-lane median
divided roadway with curb & gutter. Additional right of way on only one parcel will
be required to accommodate the proposed improvements.
A map setting forth the location and design of the project are available for
public review at the Leland Town Hall, 102 Town Hall Drive, Leland, 28451; and at
the NCDOT - Division Office, 300 Division Drive, Wilmington, 28401.
