Section 3.1.c-Pest Surveillance Non-crop vegetation will be identified by district foresters during on-site inspections. Other Procedures for Minimizing Pesticide Discharge * District foresters will prescribe lowest effective pesticide rates * District foresters will specify buffers to protect sensitive features. Suggested minimum buffers will be shown on stand maps and in GIS shapefile. * Applicator Responsibilities * Present a current state Pesticide Applicator License. * Use state-of-the-are GPS Navigation system and GIS shapefile to help locate treatment area boundariesand sensitive features. * Perform a pre-spray reconnaissance flight to verify that all sensitive areas are properly delineated on the stand map and in GIS shapefile. Discrepancies will be discussed with the district forester. * Apply pesticides in a manner which complies with product labeling. * Follow state Forestry regulations for water quality. * Monitor wind speed and weather conditions to avoid off-site movement of pesticides.
