SMITH, Widow, party of the first part, to the CITY OF WILSON, NORTH
CAROLINA, a municipal corporation organized and existing under the
j laws of the State of North Carolina, party of the second part;
W I T N E S S E T H

f( That, for and in consideration of FIFTEEN THOUSAND SEVEN
u� HUNDRED FORTY-EIGHT AND N0/100 DOLLARS ($15,748.00) and other good
and valuable consideration to her in hand paid by the party of the
second part, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, the party of
the first part has bargained and sold, and does hereby bargain, sell
and convey unto the City of Wilson, North Carolina, its successors and
assigns, in fee simple, that certain tract or parcel of land lying and
being situate in Wilson Township, Wilson County, North Carolina, and
more particularly described as follows:

BEGINNING at a point in the Southerly property line of the
proposed extension of Buckingham Drive, said point being South 5
deg. 12 min. 10 sec. West, 400.25 feet and South 50 deg. 12 min.
10 sec. West, 254.82 feet measured along the Easterly and Southerly
property line of Buckingham Drive from the intersection of the
Easterly property line of Buckingham Drive with tte Southerly property
line of Ridge Road, said point also being on the Southerly bank of
Little Hominy Swamp Canal; thence with and along the run of Little
Hominy Swamp Canal described by the following traverse line on the
Southerly bank South 72 deg. 31 min. 20 sec. East, 82.72 feet, South
39 deg. 50 min. 50 sec. East, 218.96 feet; South 30 deg. 01 min. 20
sec. East, 112.51 feet, South 8 deg. 03 min. 10 sec. West, 64.33
feet, South 75 deg. 43 min. 20 sec. East, 61.92 feet and South 18
deg. 45 min. 50 sec. East, 120.37 feet to a point, on the Southerly
bank of said Little Hominy Swamp Canal, cornering; thence leaving
Little Hominy Swamp Canal North 88 deg. 51 min. 50 sec. West, 628.5
feet to a point, cornering; thence North 39 deg. 47 min. 50 sec. West
193.46 feet to a point in the Southerly property line of the pro-
posed extension of Buckingham Drive, cornering; thence with and

along the said Southerly property line of the proposed extension of
Buckingham Drive North 50 deg. 12 min. 10' sec. East, 503.20 feet to
the point of beginning, containing 5.08 acres. For prior reference
see Deed of Naomi E. Morris, Commissioner, dated November 7, 1960,
recorded in Book 729, Page 492, Wilson County Registry.
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the aforesaid lot of land, together with
the privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise .
appertaining, unto the City of Wilson, North Carolina, its successors
and assigns, in fee simple.
For the consideration aforesaid, the party of the first part,
for herself, her heirs and assigns, hereby covenants to and with the
party of the second part, its successors and assigns, that she is
seized of the above -described land in fee and has a good right to convey
the same in fee simple; that said lot of land is free and clear from
any and all encumbrances, except as herein set out, and that she does
warrant and will forever defend the title thereto against the lawful
claims of any and all persons whomsoever.
The sale, lease or other.transfer of any of the land conveyed
herein,or any interest therein, shall be subject to the prior approval
of the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, the party of the first part has here-
unto set her hand and affixed her private seal, this the day and
year first above written.
