Zac,
Thx for the diagram. From looking at the site plan that they provided, it appears that all surface flow drainage entering
002 (from either the pipe and/or grate) will be from the 1.5 acre area identified. They were supposed to upload this site
plan onto Laser Fiche, but I don't see it. Again from the site plan, it appears that the pipe flow will be more
representative of the area closer to the aggregate piles. The flow entering from grate will include flow from larger
area. Sampling from grate may be more diluted?? They could sample from pipe, grate or both (most representative of
area).
I can try to contact them tomorrow before I try to finish processing the application. Thx for all this good input, any last
thoughts???

I apologize; I really should have taken a picture.
It's like the image below, except a yard inlet. I couldn't tell if they were supposed to be getting a sample just from the
pipe or if it was supposed to include the flow into the grate.

Sorry, I did not understand. So outfall 002 would receive stormwater runoff from areas other than the 1.5 acre
(indicated on site plan) drainage area on site?

I did not observe the downslope inlet. I was definitely more concerned with the stormwater from other sources than
their ability to access. I mentioned it to the site super, but we were both more concerned with if it would be a permit
issue.

Hmm. 002 is the only outfall of the three that is not preceded by a sedimentation pond. From the plan, it appears that
there is another stormwater inlet about 100 feet downslope (further down the pipe) from the current 002. Did you see
that inlet? IF yes, do you think sampling would be easier there? Also did you happen to mention that sampling maybe
difficult at 002? If you did mention, how did they respond?
If you didn't no worries. I can ask them and if they are unsure, I think we'll proceed anyway. We can examine their
data for next year and possibly watch them do a sampling sometime during that period?? I don't know if that is ever
done? Does this sound like a good plan?

Zac,
Hi. Thanks for the response. Do you remember if it was
001— receives drainage from truck washout/water recycle pits then sed pond
002 — receives drainage from aggregate pile runoff
003 — receives drainage from sand storage
Thx.

Hi Paul,
I just inspected this morning. The only thing I noticed is that one of the outfalls is a pipe in a stormwater conveyance
system under a grate inlet, which seemed like it would be difficult to sample if surface runoff is also flowing into the
system. I don't know if that's an issue, but I didn't have any other concerns.

Paul,
I understand the Zac Lentz of the Regional Office was at the McCarthy site yesterday and did not have any issues. Is
there anything else we need to do? Do you have any idea how quickly the permit will be issued. The DOT is pushing for
the paving to get started as soon as possible.
Thank you,
