Roza Tamas is inquiring about building on the land by the road and next to the Fire Department. Building permits suggested she contact me for proof of a sewer system. This is an unusual situation, but this parcel by the road, not the back parcel, is allowed to tie onto the Fire Departments sewer system which is permitted by us, Permit # NCG551075. One house only and no more than 3 bedrooms, as the permitted flow allowance is 1,000 GPD for the entire system (Fire Department and the residence). The line from the residence will have to cross the creek, the portion of the line crossing the creek has to be constructed out of ferrous material pipe. Since this a shared system, the resident and the Fire Department are required to work together and share the cost to properly operate and maintain this system. Let me know if you need anything else. The property has been subdivided into o par ne parcel remains under the ownership of Mr.Taylor, the other is owned by the Fairview Fire Department. The parcel owned by the Fire Department is where the wastewater system is located. The system was recently installed with a tie in for Mr.Taylor's property from which this parcel was separated. An ownership change form was submitted to DWR by both parties(January 2015)and the permit owner now reflects the Fairview Fire Department. Several handouts on operation and maintenance of this type of wastewater system were given to Mr. Scott for reference._ Upon inspection the system appears to have been installed according to permit condition which currently requires de-chlorination following chlorination. There were two areas that need attention; the de-chlorination unit needs a lid and there were sinkholes/settling that need to be repaired immediately. It is important that runoff water is shed away from this system. Also to protect the effluent pipe wing wall there was an area of sloughing beginning at the top of the streambank just upstream of the wing wall. Mrs. Wiggs, I just pulled purchase agreement from the file to purchase the property from Billy Taylor. The signed agreement clearly states and I'm paraphrasing because it is a lengthy section. It states that users of the system shall bear the per capita all operation, maintenance, repair costs and expenses of the jointly used portions of the system.
