Dear Sir:
The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) proposes to replace Bridge No.
82 over Jacktown Creek on NC 226, with a 90-foot reinforced concrete box culvert (RCBC).
There will be <0.01 acres (9 feet) of temporary impacts due to the installation of a 12-inch
waterline prior to the start of the box culvert and temporary detour construction. Installation
of the water line involves a 3-foot wide excavation at three crossings of the jurisdictional
stream. The water line will be buried a minimum of 3 feet below existing and proposed
stream grade. Please see prior received permits, referenced above.
Please see enclosed copies of the Pre-Construction Notification (PCN) Form, Permit
Drawings and Design Plans. Environmental documents were previously distributed and
additional copies are available upon request.

I Area is heavily developed/disturbed with a community college and major intersection wl 1-40 nearby. A waterline is to be
placed causing some temporarv impa,,ts to Jacktown Creek. A NW 23 and 33 have already been obtained for the
raplacenteni of Bridoe No. 82 with a 90-foot long reinforced concrete box culvert.
