(CFE) is requesting a gravity sewer extension permit for Sunset Commons development which proposes a total of 48 multi -family units. The flow requested will also include allocation for three future commercial parcels within the project boundary. The new gravity sewer system has been designed to convey wastewater discharge to the exiting 8-inch gravity sewer line located in the center of Chatham Drive. The existing gravity sewer conveys the wastewater to a pump station located at the end of Chatham Drive that pumps the flow into a 6-inch existing forcemain. A flow of 10,080 GPD is anticipated for the 48 residential units each with projected wastewater flows of 210 GPD (per 2T rules). A flow of 5,280 GPD is anticipated for the commercial parcels (approximately 6 acres) with projected wastewater flows of 880 gal/day/acres. The total flow being requested is 15,360 GPD. For your review we have provided the sewer application (FTA 04-16), site maps, sewer project narrative, and construction plans. The proposed gravity sewer system design is in accordance with the NCDEQ's "Minimum Design Criteria for Gravity Sewer. Since additional flow is being requested a FTSE form will be provided with the submittal. I trust that the information provided is sufficient for your approval of this new permit request and execution of the permit application. Please let us know when the signed application is ready to be picked up. If you have any questions or need any additional information, please contact me directly. Sincerely,, 04" Michael House, P.E. The flow request for this gravity sewer permit will also include flow from three future commercial parcels located within the project boundary. This submittal includes improvements to serve 48 multifamily units and the future commercial property. Wastewater flows from the proposed Sunset Commons will be conveyed through an existing gravity sewer system. The proposed gravity sewer system will serve the units mentioned above and collect at a pumping station downstream. Brunswick County has informed us that capacity is available in the Sunset Commons pump station for all additional flow. After reaching the pump station, flow will be conveyed through a force main to a downstream sewer system. Ultimately wastewater flows will discharge at the Sea Trail WWTF (WQ 0012748). The proposed gravity sewer for Sunset Commons will consist of approximately 1,840 LF of 8-inch SDR 35 PVC gravity main. WASTEWATER PROJECTION: The projected ultimate average flow from the proposed service connections is anticipated to be 15,360 GPD. This is based on 48 units (3-bedroom) each with projected wastewater flows of 210 GPD (per 2T rules) and approximately 6 acres of commercial property with projected wastewater flows of 880 gal/day/acre (per 2T rules). SYSTEM DESIGN: Gravity System: The gravity sewer system for the project has been sized in accordance with the requirements set forth in "Minimum Design Criteria for Gravity Sewer". TREATMENT FACILITY: The proposed wastewater flow of 15,360 GPD for Sunset Commons has been approved for the Sea Trail Wastewater Treatment Facility. If additional flow capacity is required for the future it will be requested. OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE: Brunswick County Public Utilities will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the sanitary sewer system. This analysis has been performed in accordance with local established policies and procedures using the best available data. This certification applies to those items listed above in Sections I and II plus all attached planning assessment addendums for which I am the responsible party.
