Hello all,
Please see the attached mod request from the Village of BHI to extend the placement of sand from the ferry channel by
120' along Row Boat Row. This area is also authorized for placement of sand from Bald Head Creek dredging under 139-
10 as mentioned in the memo. Curt, I know you mentioned that the placement under two different permits was
concerning, do you have any further comments or an objection? Chad, USACE authorized the project with a mod letter
contained in the attachment above— does this mean DWR will have no written concurrence?

NOTE: This permit was amended to correct the permittee name.
1) Unless specifically altered herein, this Minor Modification authorizes a 120' extension of the sand
disposal area to the north of rock breakwater B-2 and ending at existing groin G-2, all as expressly
and specifically set forth in the attached letter and workplan drawings. Any additional land disturbing
activities and/or construction may require a modification of this permit. Contact a Division of Coastal
Management representative at [phone] for this determination.
2) The permittee and/or his or her contractor shall meet with a representative of the Division prior to
project initiation.
(See Attached Sheet for Additional Conditions)
This permit action may be appealed by the permittee or other
qualified persons within twenty (20) days of the issuing date.
This permit must be accessible on -site to Department
personnel when the project is inspected for compliance.
Any maintenance work or project modification not covered
hereunder requires further Division approval.
All work must cease when the permit expires on
December 31, 2019
In issuing this permit, the State of North Carolina agrees that

and copies of all documents shall be readily available on site when Division personnel inspect the
project for compliance.
4) All conditions and stipulations of the active permit remain in force under this Minor Modification unless
specifically altered herein.
NOTE: This permit does not eliminate the need to obtain any additional state, federal or local permits,
approvals or authorizations that may be required.
NOTE: Future development of the permittee's property may require a modification of this permit.
Contact a representative of the Division at [phone] prior to the commencement of any
such activity for this determination. The permittee is further advised that many non -water
dependent activities are not authorized within 30 feet of the normal high water level.
