During a large rain event last week, the stream cut around the impervious dike (see attached photo). The permit called for permanent and temporary stream impacts on the upstream side, but showed no rip rap on the banks. In order to repair the eroded bank, we had to rebuild it with class II rip rap. The rip rap limits are within the permitted impacts (both temporary and permanent). Since it was an emergency situation, I gave them the go ahead to get it installed. Note the guy wire anchoring the power pole that we didn’t want falling. We need to convert 10’ of temporary impacts to permanent bank stabilization impacts (shown on the attached pdf). I have also linked the permits for reference here. Let me know if you have questions or need any additional information.
