I wanted to give you a heads up In case you get a call from Mr. Tabor. NCDOT responded to a complaint from Mr. Tabor
a couple weeks ago. He had iron oxidizing bacteria on the surface of the pond which he believed was oil. Dragados
pulled some samples to confirm that its not petroleum. The tests show petroleum below baseline, and high nitrogen,
phosphorus and TSS. The TSS is likely from organic solids as the samples were purposefully taken from areas along the
edges of the pond where we saw the film. 10 acres along the project in the vicinity were last fertilized on April 2,
2020. There was no direct application of fertilizer to surface waters per the permit. Let me know if you have questions.

This is what the west end of the lake looks like this morning. Looks like some type of oil that I’ve never
seen before, colored and shiny. I think that someone needs to come and pull a sample to see what’s
going on. It covers about 1/4 of the lake.
