Please find enclosed three (3) copies of the Wastewater System Performance Annual Report for
the City of Marion's wastewater system for calendar year 2019. I understand the report is due
within 60 days of the end of the 12-month review period. The report is being submitted late
because of a misunderstanding or miscommunication during a transition period within our
organization. Effective March 1, 2020, the City of Marion's Corpening Creek WWTP became a
division of the City of Marion Public Works Department. hi addition, the W WTP has a new
Superintendent/ORC, effective February 13, 2020. The new Superintendent/ORC is Tim
Horton. The former Superintendent/ORC, Larry Carver, retired February 29, 2020. Mr. Horton
and I thought the Annual Report had historically been submitted based on the fiscal year. Upon
realizing that it had actually been submitted based on the calendar year, we immediately
prepared the report. I spoke with Mr. Tim Heim of the Asheville Regional Office about this
matter on April 21, 2020 and explained the accidental oversight.
I respectfully request that a Notice of Violation not be issued for this accidental oversight. Your
consideration of my request is greatly appreciated. If you have any questions or require more
