Jake,
Thanks for reaching out. I do not have any objections to making the ford permanent as you describe. There is no need to
modify the approval for this change. I'll place your email in the file.
Thank you,

We were in the process of trying to figure this out when we submitted our permitting plans, but we hope to
install the "temporary ford crossing" shown on the plans as a permanent feature. The purpose is so that the
landowner can access the far bank to do maintenance such as dealing with fallen trees, invasives work,
etc. Primary vehicle would be a riding lawnmower. The idea is to have them cross in a riffle and add some
stone material mixed in with soil on the banks to make the banks less deformable. There was talk of trying to
permit a bridge, but this isn't feasible due to FEMA constraints.
Do you all have any objections to making this ford permanent and what do you need from me for the
permits? I would basically just change the label from temporary to permanent. We will still try to vegetate
the banks, just won't plant them with trees and anticipate this crossing to be used infrequently. We're also
looking into a temporary bridge but we need this ford as a backup plan.
Also, as an FYI, due to ESC comments we decided to change to a full pump around instead of partial pump
around/diversion. As such, we are not proposing to use a turbidity curtain since all work will be in the dry.
Thanks,
Jake
