proposed replacement of Bridge No. 155 over Little Long Creek on SR 1800
(Willis Road) in Gaston County, Federal Aid Project No. BRZ-1800(4);

Dear Sir:
The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) proposes to replace Bridge No.
155 over Little Long Creek on SR 1800. The NCDOT submitted a permit application dated
October 20, 2009 which stated that there would be <0.01 acre (26 linear feet)of potential
temporary stream impacts. Subsequently, a Nationwide 33 Permit (Action 1D: SAW-2009-
01974) was issued for the project.
Since the permit was issued, the decision was made to leave the abutments in place to better
maintain the existing stream dimension at the bridge (per communication with NCDWQ,
Hydraulics and the Division). Due to this revision, the Nationwide 33 Permit is no longer
required. NCDOT hereby requests the application and Nationwide 33 Permit be withdrawn.
