Dear Mr. Harris:
Application No. WQ0011746
Additional Information Request
Moore Water and Sewer Authority
Pinehurst #8, Clubhouse Utilities
Sewer Extension
Moore County
The Permits and Engineering Unit has completed a preliminary engineering review of the subject
application. Additional information is required before we can continue our review. Please provide the
following by January 4, 1995:
* On sheet 2 of 5 of the application, the length of gravity sewer to be permitted was left off.
Please calculate the length of sewer line to be permitted and send the revised sheet of the application to my
attention. This revised sheet of the application should be individually signed and sealed.
* The Division's regulations stipulate that three feet of minimum cover must be maintained
over the sewer line or that a pipe'of ferrous material should be used. Between manholes 1 and 2 and
between manholes 3 and 5, there are areas which do not maintain three feet of minimum cover and are
listed as PVC sewer. Please bring these portions of the sewer into compliance with the Division's
regulations.
* The Division's regulations stipulate that when sewer-, cin not maintain a 10 Fart bnn7ontal
separation with water mains that an 18 inch vertical separation (water over sewer) shall be maintained or
that a pipe of ferrous material shall be used. The note on the plans, regarding the separations to be
maintained between water mains and sewer mains, needs to reflect that the 18 inch separation only applies
when the water main is crossing over the sewer main.
* The specifications submitted for this project mention the relocation of a pump station. The
Division needs to know where this pump station is located to determine if permitting is required for this
pump station and its associated force main. If there is no pump station to be relocated, please resubmit the
revised specifications without the sections on the pump station and force main.
