Explain the purpose of the proposed project:* The purpose of this residential development is to provide single family housing for the expanding population of the Triangle area. 4i. Describe the overall project in detail, including indirect impacts and the type of equipment to be used:* The project would require impacts associated with a stream crossing by a sewer line to connect the project to an existing sewer that is currently on site. This proposed crossing would cross perpendicular to stream SA and impact wetland WB, Stream SA, and Stream SA Buffers. Crossing stream SA at the proposed location would result in no loss of perennial stream and the permanent loss of 0.01 acres (425 square feet) of wetland. The proposed crossing and associated disturbance would result in the permanent loss of 664 square feet of Zone 1 riparian buffer and 228 square feet of Zone 2 riparian buffer. The crossing would additionally have temporary impacts of 34 linear feet of stream SA, 0.03 acres (1,108 square feet) of wetland, 1447 square feet of Zone 1 riparian buffer, and 622 square feet of Zone 2 riparian buffer. Sediment and erosion control measures would be implemented according to NC requirements, and approved by NCDEMLR prior to implementation. Jurisdictional areas adjacent to construction areas would be clearly marked with protection fencing or other similar method to avoid inadvertent encroachment. Copies of permits and impact areas would be provided to the prime contractor and all subcontractors working in or near jurisdictional areas. Land clearing would take place along with installation of erosion control devices. Construction would be accomplished using typical equipment including excavators, backhoes, and dump trucks. These impacts are needed to connect the development to the eAsting Raleigh sewer system and maintain project viability. All lots and roads are designed to avoid impacts to wetlands and streams on the property. The proposed sewer corridor Will be limited to 30 feet Wide, including temporary construction access areas, to minimize impacts. 1b. Specifically describe measures taken to avoid or minimize the proposed impacts through construction techniques: A temporary pump -around would be utilized to dewater stream SA within the proposed impact areas during construction and will be removed at the end of each work day. Best management practices and sedimentation and erosion control methods will be used during all construction techniques. No equipment refueling or maintenance activities will occur adjacent to jurisdictional areas. All temporary impacts to jurisdictional wetlands during construction activities Will be returned to their original configuration and seeded in a timely manner for stabilization. 2.
