Inspection Summary:
Mikal Willmer, with the Asheville Regional Office, conducted a review of the City of Marion’s RLAP 2019 Annual Report on
April 27, 2020.
The facility appeared to be in compliance with the monitoring and reporting requirements specified in Permit No.
WQ0019960.
Pathogen and Vector Attraction Reduction: Facility met pathogen reduction by Alt. 1 Fecal Density and Vector Attraction
Reduction through Alt. 4 SOUR.
Non-hazardous waste characterization: All parameters appear to meet regulatory requirements.
Metals and Nutrients: Metals did not exceed ceiling concentrations or cumulative pollutant loading rates. lbs. PAN per acre
did not exceed the optimal rate for Fescue. SAR was below 10.
Soil Fertility Analysis: Recommend monitoring phosphorus levels for fields R1, R2, and F3 as the P-I reported on the soils
report is considered "very high". Phosphorus removal of Fescue in McDowell County for Hayesville loam 6-15% slope (HAC)
is approximately 75 lbs/acre.
