Rerouting of Wastewater from Ash Basin to Site WWTS
With reference to the subject permit Part I A. (29.), this letter provides notification to you
that the wastewater from the ash basin plans to be rerouted to the site wastewater
treatment system (NPDES Outfall 005) as part of the ash basin dewatering process.
The construction for this rerouting project is scheduled to be complete and in operation
on May 4, 2020. Duke Energy staff will provide further communication such that the
monitoring requirements in Part I A. (6.) for Outfall 005 (dewatering phase) can be
activated in the Department's Basinwide Information Management System database.
