I just wanted to clarify how your input will be used in the CTP. The CTP is a plan that shows the long range transportation needs in a county in the next 20-35 years. Project proposals are created that satisfy those needs. Each individual project proposal will have sheets providing additional information ranging from local input and concerns to environmental challenges and crucial information to keep in mind during the lifespan of a project. I was wondering if you could clarify which projects have the concerns provided in your comments. Your comments will be going towards providing additional information that may be important to document for each project. Thank you. Roger I. This study area includes all of Macon County, including the towns of Franklin and Highlands. The CTP is a mutually adopted legal document between the state of North Carolina and local area partners. It consists of multi -modal maps and accompanying documentation that represents the community's consensus on future transportation needs and potential solutions. These maps include the current transportation system as well as the needs 25-30 years in the future. Our steering committee has developed draft recommendations for this plan for Highway, Bike and Pedestrian modes (attached — note: there are multiple pages per document). It should be noted that public transportation was also evaluated, but there were no future recommendations to expand the current deviated fixed route. These same recommendations have also been sent to the steering committee for review before it goes out for public input. Please review these recommendations and give me feedback regarding critical areas that we need to be aware of. Please send your comments by April 17th. Our next steps will be preparing for public involvement to receive feedback on the draft recommendations. If you are aware of other partners who should review these draft recommendations, please let me know. Feel free to email me at ricastillo@ncdot.gov if you have any questions. Thank you. Roger I.
