I’ll try and call around 10:30 or 11. Attached is a plan sheet from R-2603 showing the bridge over Mulberry Creek. The second page of the attachment shows a change we would like to make - refresh some old rip rap beside the old bridge (8’-10’ of rip rap) and direct water from the proposed PSH into a rock lined ditch and on to the refreshed rip rap. Right now, there is a access road that goes below the bridge directly beside the PSH that the water will be directed onto, continually washing gravel from the road (see aerial image on third page). Plus, much of this water will just run on top of the compacted gravel road and then into the creek. This new alteration would instead dissipate the flow and then direct it into a rock lined ditch down to the river. Similar to what happens on the south side of the bridge, but of course the rock lined ditch would be much smaller – approx. 40’ in length. I spoke to our roadside environmental staff about this and they are fine with it. I think it will work much better than the proposed PSH. I just wanted to run it by you and discuss in case you had concerns. I’m not seeing any new impacts to jurisdictional features, but it would be a change to the proposed stormwater feature at this location.
