Inspection Summary:
Mikal Willmer, with the Asheville Regional Office, conducted a review of the City of Marion's WTP DCAR 2019 Annual Report
on April 16, 2020. This review was conducted to determine whether the residuals were processed, monitored and distributed
in compliance with Permit No. WQ0031674.
The City reported no distribution in 2019 and appears to be in compliance; however, please review the recommendation
below.
In future submittals, please use certification form DMSDF for Class A Residuals.
During the 2019 facility inspection, staff were planning to have the ponds dredged. The ponds have not been completely
dredged of solids since 2013. Solids removal was recommended in the NPDES inspection conducted in 2019. Please note,
a schedule for removing solids from the facility should be maintained to prevent potential upsets.
Additionally, please review the permit issued in 2015 as there have been changes since your last distribution in 2013.
Please review all requirement before product is distributed. The current permit is set to expire in May 2021. The renewal
application is required to be submitted to the Non-Discharge Permitting Unit no later than 180 days prior to expiration.
