Since the prior permit was issued, no significant changes have occurred at the facility other than discontinuance of the discharge of boiler blowdown through Outfall 002. Boiler blowdown water is now captured and re-introduced into the boiler system and there are no longer any non-stormwater discharges associated with Outfall 002. Please advise if you have any questions or require additional information. Sincerely, ..0.41,1/4.) Describe the treatment system List all installed waste treatment components with capacities, describe the processes that generate wastewaters. If the space provided is not sufficient attach a separate sheet of paper with the system description. There is no active treatment system in place for the permitted discharges. Best management practices are in place on the wet deck to filter solids (bark debris) that would otherwise be washed into the receiving pond. Boiler blowdown, which is a permitted discharge, is no longer released from the facility but is now captured at its source and re-introduced into the boiler system. 8. Is facility covered under federal effluent limitation guidelines? No ❑ Yes If yes, specify the category? Timber Products Processing 9. Principal product(s) produced: Untreated Lumber Principal raw material(s) consumed: Pine logs Briefly describe the manufacturing process(es): Pine Logs are delivered to the site by truck and stacked on the wet log deck until sawn. Wet deck sprayer water is drawn from a dedicated pond which also receives runoff from the deck. Discharges from the pond enter a tributary to Bennetts Creek at Outfall 001. Logs are mechanically debarked and sawn in the sawmill to produce dimensional lumber in sizes that are determined by a computer optimization system. The lumber is generally dried in one of a number of steam-driven dry kilns. A boiler exists to produce the steam for the dry kilns and formerly resulted in blowdown that was discharged through Outfall 002. This blowdown water is now captured at its source and re-introduced into the boiler system such that no non-stormwater discharges drain through Outfall 002. Rough- sawn, kiln-dried lumber is planed to achieve customer specifications and may also be re- manufactured for custom edging. Finished lumber products are stored on site in covered sheds until shipment by truck to customer locations.
