The North Carolina Division of Water Resources conducted an inspection of the Santeetlah Lakeside
WWTP on 3/20/2020. This inspection was conducted to verify that the facility is operating in
compliance with the conditions and limitations specified in Non-discharge Permit No. WQ0031396. The
findings and comments noted during this inspection are provided in the enclosed copy of the inspection
report entitled "Compliance Inspection Report".

There were no significant issues or findings noted during the inspection and therefore, a response to this
inspection report is not required.

Please continue to keep the Non-Discharge Unit apprised of any planned changes to expected flow to the

Inspection Summary:
Inspector Mikal Willmer, with the Asheville Regional Office, conducted a compliance evaluation inspection of the Santeelah
Lakeside reuse system on March 20, 2020. This inspection was conducted due to the previous non-compliant inspection.
Since the last inspection in 2016, it appears the ownership discrepancies and permit expiration have been resolved.
Lake Point Properties on Santeelah Lakeside, LLC is now the owner of record. The originally permitted system is rated at
4120 GPD to service 26 bedrooms on 13 residential lots, a private bathhouse restroom and 1500 square foot food stand. It
was noted during a file review before the onsite inspection, the permittee requested a flow reduction. Please keep the
non-discharge unit apprised of any significant changes planned for the eventual build out to ensure flows will not exceed the
current design capacity. Additionally, please keep us apprised of any agreements to accept flow from lots and/or homes that
are on septic currently or were planned to be on septic.
WWTP: As noted in previous inspections, part of the WWTP appears to be in place; however, because a certified
engineering certification was never received, it is unknown what units are installed and whether it is still useable. A generator
is onsite, and the drip lines were run, but it is unknown if these are still in working order. A new site map will be required
depending on changes that occur before the system is put into use. Also, monitoring wells will need to be sited and placed
before start-up.
