Subject: Global Trans Park - Industrial Development Areas
DWQ# 02-0271
Lenoir County
Dear Mr. Noah:
This office has reviewed the information submitted on February 23, 2002 relevant to the subject property and I
conducted a site visit for the above referenced project on February 23, 2002. It was determined that the drainage features
depicted on the USGS 1:24,000 topo graphic map and Lenoir County Soils map are at least intermittent streams and
therefore subject to the Neuse River Basin: Nutrient Sensitive Waters Management Strategy; Protection and Maintenance
of Existing Riparian Areas, Administrative Code T15A:02B.0233 (NCAC 0233). The origin points of these streams
have been marked in the field at our site visit with plastic flagging and I understand that you plan to survey or GPS them.
The approximate locations and their descriptions are shown on the attached map:
I.A. Stream origin at culvert under road just downstream from the intersection of two ditches,
I.B. Stream origin in the valley about 300 feet upslope from the main channel;
II. Stream origin at the head cut beneath the flagged tree; and
III. Stream origin at the upslope edge of the first area of hardwoods down slope from the agricultural
field off of SR 1581.
In order to impact these streams and buffers, written approval from DWQ is required unless the project is an exempt
activity as outlined in these rules.
Thank you for your attention to this matter and if this office can be--ofany assistance -or if you have any questions.
please do not hesitate to contact us.
incerely,
Pn Dome
