Analytical monitoring results showed that COD was outside of the benchmark values for
Outfall FV006. A Tier II Response Inspection was conducted finding some solid materials in
the bottom of environmental pit #1 to include some algae. There was also evidence of
dirt/rock build up and debris on concrete surfaces that drain to Environmental Pit #1. Storm
water runoff directly into the back sampling compartment of Environmental Pit #1 may have
contributed to high COD due to no time for sediment to settle/fall out in pit prior to the
stormwater flow exiting through the sampling pipe. Environmental pit was cleaned and an
absorbent boom was installed in the sampling department.
