❖Cormetech (IUP# 032) additional information:
❖ The City of Kings Mountain WWTP was put under an SOC due to the high amounts of thallium received from
Cormetech.
❖ Cormetech submits monthly status reports to the POTW that contain information on what they are doing to reduce
the amount of thallium that is released from their final discharge.
❖ The POTW has seen a significant decrease in the amount of thallium from Cormetech.
❖ Cormetech has been found in SNC for 2019 for falsifying flow during the 2016-2017 timeframe and exceeding
arsenic limits. The City was notified late November 2019 of the offences. Thies Hoffmann pled guilty to falsifying
flow and was terminated and deported to his home country.
❖ Cormetech has been placed under a consent order and compliance schedule on the 20t" day of December, 2019
until the 6t" day of June, 2020.
❖ Public notice will be published in the local paper in 2020.

❖NTE (IUP#036) additional information:
❖ After receiving the first months data from NTE in 2018, the industry was concerned with the results from the
sampling data. At that point the City requested they complete the 40 CFR 403.15 Credit application. The
application was completed and approved.
❖ On 10/17/2019 after reviewing a years worth of sampling data, the City of Kings Mountain set permit limits for
Chloroform, Cyanide and Copper.
❖ Commercial Vehicle Group (IUP# 026) additional information:
❖ On 12/18/2018 CVG submitted a Application to Construct to install JB-35 automatic flocculent dilution system to
improve consistency of flocculent concentration. The City of Kings Mountain approved the ATC on 12/20/2018.
The JB-35 installation was finalized on 1/10/2019.
❖ On 2/21/2019 CVG requested the addition of Calcium Hydroxide Slurry 35% to their pretreatment process. On
2/26/2019 the City of Kings Mountain approved the addition of Calcium Hydroxide Slurry 35%. The addition of
Calcium Hydroxide Slurry 35% has improved CVG's phosphorus removal.

*:•Cormetech has been found in SNC for 2019 for falsifying flow during the 2016-2017 timeframe and
exceeding arsenic limits. The City was notified late November 2019 of the offences. Thies Hoffmann, COO
of Cormetech, pled guilty to falsifying flow and was terminated and deported to his home country.
*:•Cormetech was issued a penalty in the amount of $128,271.68 for this violation on 12/2/2019.
Payment was received in 2019.
