This letter serves as a buffer authorization for the referenced property, by Guilford County
Watershed Protection & Stormwater Management Division staff. The Stream Buffer Use Request
Form that you submitted to the County on February 215t, 2020 has been approved. Guilford County
is the locally delegated authority for enforcing the Jordan Lake stream buffer requirements; please
see the Guilford County Development Ordinance Article VII, Section 1.9.

According to the Guilford County Development Ordinance 7-1.9(A)7)c.iv.(2)
The required area of mitigation shall be determined by applying the following
multipliers to the impacts determined in Section 7-1.9(A)7)c.iv.(1) of this
Ordinance to each zone of the riparian buffer:
(I) Impacts to Zone One of the riparian buffer shall be multiplied by
three;
(II) Impacts to Zone Two of the riparian buffer shall be multiplied by one
and one-half; and
(III) Impacts to wetlands within Zones One and Two of the riparian buffer
that are subject to mitigation under 15A NCAC 2H .0506 shall comply with
the mitigation ratios in 15A NCAC 2H .0506.

Please be advised that this letter does not exempt the stream reach from compliance with other
local, state, or federal ordinances involving jurisdictional stream/wetland requirements, such as
Section 401 and 404 of the Clean Water Act.
This approval is valid only for the purpose and design that was described in the application. If any
modifications are made to the project a written notification describing the changes, must be
submitted to the Guilford County Planning & Development Department, Watershed Protection &
Stormwater Management Division. If the property is sold, the new owner must be given a copy of
the certification and approval letter and is thereby responsible for complying with all conditions.
