I don't have it my email archive because we handled it over the phone. I should have sent you an email confirming the change, but I probably had 20 other people [as usual] nagging me for changes/updates. You don't need to do anything. I'm sorry all this computer incompatibility has caused a headache for you. You're not alone. Both ICIS and ECHO are riddled with bad data, either entered incorrectly or processed by EPA into something different than what was uploaded. As I mentioned in an earlier message, I'll vouch for you regarding the Hardness issue if EPA or any 3rd party gives you grief about it. Sorry for all this trouble. Have a good weekend. CHW From: Jimmy Pridgen [mailto:jpridgen@WILSONNC.ORG] Sent: Friday, June 8, 2018 10:03 AM To: Weaver, Charles <charles.weaver@ncdenr.gov> Subject: [External] RE: Total Hardness in NC0023906 Charles, I remember having a conversation with someone back then. I would assume it was you. I don't know for sure though. can't find anything in my archived emails either so I assume it may have just been a phone conversation. At the time, we were running upstream hardness monthly but there was no provision in BIMS for us to get it onto eDMR. We were still pretty new to eDMR at the time. I think I recall being told that it had to be entered as Monthly so it would allow us to enter the data each month. I didn't realize at the time that the Monthly designation would eventually run into a big headache by triggering erroneous non -reporting violations. Sorry about that or I would at least tried to resolve sooner. NCDEQ never contacted us to indicate they were seeing as violation. We only saw it when we looked at ECHO web page. I did ask that Hardness be added so we could get our Upstream hardness data into the BIMS database. Hardness is used to adjust dissolved metals limits and we need historical hardness data to do that. That is why we wanted the info in the BIMS database so it would be available at permit renewal. We moved from monthly to quarterly monitoring once we felt we had enough info in database for permit writers. That is why we looked to be non -reporting in each quarter. We missed two months in each quarter. We also run hardness on our effluent for all the same reasons. If we hand entered our data into eDMR, then we could have probably entered as needed but we have our own access database that uploads all of our eDMR data at one time. Computers and software are great but they can create some headaches at times. i Thanks again for all your help with this Charles. Let me know if I can assist in any way. Did you request that I add it, or was there some other reason? I keep all the emails related to limit & monitoring changes, corrections, etc. I just got a new computer and not all of my old messages transferred over. I can't find any archived messages relating to NCO023906 & Hardness. Do you recall why this change was made? Please forgive an old man's failing memory, and thanks for your help. Charles H.
