After initial review and internal DCM coordination related to the modification request of CAMA Major Permit No. 24-03
for the construction of a sandbag structure to protect Hwy. 12 on Ocracoke Island submitted on March 2, 2020, DCM
requests additional information in order to accept the application as complete:
* Within the project narrative describing the proposed project, please give the methodology for filling the
proposed sandbags and reestablishing the dunes. This includes the location of the material to be used for each activity.
Please confirm that information contained within the project narrative correlates with information provided on all
submitted drawings.
* Updated workplan drawings and associated typical cross section/profiles, including dimensions of the proposed
sandbags and any resulting changes to the dune dimensions. Please date the drawings.
* Please provide information about any correspondence with the National Park Service regarding the proposal,
and if it is known whether a modification of the NPS Special Use Permit will be required.
Please provide an update on any project related Section 7 coordination/consultation requirements with USFWS.
Thanks for your time and please contact me with any questions.
