This approval will expire when the accompanying 404 or CAMA permit expires unless otherwise specified in the General Certification. This approval is only valid for the purpose and design that you described in your application except as modified below. If you change your project, you must notify us and you may be required to send us a new application. If the property is sold, the new owner must be given a copy of this Certification and approval letter and is thereby responsible for complying with all conditions. If total wetland fills for this project (now or in the future) exceed one acre, compensatory mitigation may be required as described in 15A NCAC 2H .0506 (h) (6) and (7). February 27, 2002 REPORT-PHASEISHO Applicant - Timothy Mc 1024 Buntin Asheboro, NC 27203 Location - Lot No. 19 Circle Drive 4V D 1 RELINE EVALUATION Kenzie g Road Reservoir - Narrows (Badin Lake) A. Shoreline Evaluation - A shoreline evaluation of the subject property was completed on 2/8/02. A copy of the field notes and photographs taken during the site visit are attached to this report. In general, there is only minor erosion along the waterfront of this parcel. The existing shoreline has some scattered loose stone rip- rap adjacent to and underneath an existing wood pier. The eroded height was observed to be only 18 to 24 inches in height. An existing concrete boat ramp is in place adjacent to the pier and is being undermined at the water's edge. Water willow was observed in the lake between the shoreline and the existing pier. A few large pine trees are scattered along the shoreline. No lap trees were observed on the shoreline. Orientation and location of the shoreline appear to present a minor exposure to boat wakes, and there is no exposure to wind driven waves. B. Recommendations - GNA DESIGN ASSOCIATES, INC. Based on the site evaluation, we recommend that stabilization of the 428 East Fourth Street Suite 408 (704) 373-1907 shoreline be completed as follows: Charlotte. NC 28202 Fax (704) 358-0766 1. The existing trees along the shoreline shall remain and need Principals to be protected during installation of the shoreline Teresa L. Hawkins. ASLA improvements. Landscape Architecture Jeff D. Oden, PE 2. The erosion underthe concrete boat should be backfilled with Civil Engineering small stone or gravel by hand and compacted in place. No earth material should be placed under the concrete ramp. F. Lee Howell, PLS Surveying GNA DESIGN ASSOCIATES. INC. Page 2 3. The existing loose rip rap should be removed and temporarily placed on the lot above the shoreline until it can be placed on the fabric with the other rip rap. 4. Install stabilization in accordance with Detail 2 - Minor Rip- Rap stabilization (copy attached). Existing stone rip-rap on shoreline is acceptable for use. Place rip rap and fabric under existing wood pier to the best extent possible. 5. Upon completion of construction, the owner will be required to revegetate the disturbed area above the shoreline improvements with Yadkin approved ground cover plant materials.
