Authority: 33 USC 401, Section 10; 1413, Section 404. Principle Purpose: These laws require permits authorizing
activities in, or affecting, navigable waters of the United States, the discharge of dredged or fill material into waters of
the United States, and the transportation of dredged material for the purpose of dumping it into ocean waters. Routine
Uses: Information provided on this form will be used in evaluating the application for a permit. Disclosure: Disclosure
of requested information is voluntary. If information is not provided, however, the permit application cannot be
processed nor can a permit be issued. One set of original drawings or good reproducible copies which show the
location and character of the proposed activity must be attached to this application (see sample drawings and

17. DIRECTIONS TO THE SITE: Traveling north through the Village of Duck on NC Hwy. 12, Site is on
the west side of the highway: 1.45 miles south of the Currituck Lighthouse. Please see locational map
attached.
18. NATURE OF ACTIVITY (Description of project, include all features):
Excavation and backfill of 3.61 acres of 404 jurisdictional wetlands for residential development
and access to subject site. To establish suitable roadbed material for adequate stability, maintain the public
access and utility Right of Way, achieve the required setbacks, install stormwater control swales, and to
facilitate access to the single family residences to be constructed on these existing lots. Please see site
plans by Coastal Engineering and Surveying attached.

Needed for adequate Access and use of residential lots. To facilitate installation of the asphalt
road, side slopes, and stormwater swales necessary to facilitate public access to the existing lots listed
above.
