The permit (06-0446) was issued on 4/19/2006. Originally, the property was planted with bareroot woody stems within 50 feet of the ditches, resulting in 21.6 acres of Nutrient Offset buffer. In order to garner the maximum nutrient offset function on the property, this winter EEP contractors will be planting woody stems out to a maximum of 200 feet from each ditch, resulting in an additional 26.2 acres of Nutrient Offset buffer. The property will then contain 47.8 acres of Nutrient Offset buffer, contingent upon meeting success criteria. The additional 26.2 acres will be planted between December 2009 and February 2010. The success criteria for all Nutrient Offset buffer portions of the site will consist of 320 trees per acre. Please contact me with any questions you have regarding this project, or this request. Sincerely, Tracy Morris Environmental Senior Specialist NC Ecosystem Enhancement Program Cc: Marc Recktenwald, EEP _? .. a. a -aa 5.... 1 a v
