Jason,
Thanks yes and you had asked for some additional follow-up on my end for documentation purposes. Thanks for
meeting me on site today, everything looked good from my side of things, and we will move forward with rescinding
your Industrial User Permit (wastewater permit). I should have a formal letter for you in the next few days. Additionally,
we talked about the storm water pit and I noted that I cannot sign off on that. Maybe there was confusion with Thad
that I was also representing the Raleigh Storm Water group. I have sent our storm water guys an email and left a
voicemail and asked them to contact you to make sure we get their approval. Hopefully they will be quick to respond
and you can check this project off your list.
You had asked about records retention for pretreatment files, I would keep laboratory data for 3 years and then discard.
I would likely keep all important documents permanently (permits and permit applications). This should hopefully shrink
your files quite a bit, but you never know when Cargill may want to reference an old permit.
If you would, could you please send me the pictures of the skim pit showing the concrete fill and also the holes in the
bottom?
Thanks,
Ryan Faw I Industrial Pretreatment Coordinator City of Raleigh Public Utilities o 919.996.3679 1 c 919.427.7611

Rya n,
We talked about it in person about busting up the concrete and the hole in the wall. But he had stated it the visit that
you and him came out on site. He did state that when I wanted to bust up the bottom that he need to talk with other
people in his office as well.

Below is the email from last week that I sent in response. If the City has no problems with that method then I don't.

I would like to observe the process for pumping down and cleaning the pond. If you could call when you know the pond
will be pumped down I'll ride over and view the process

Thad,
Good morning, I hope all is well. This is a follow up email from your December visit around the storm water permit and
plan. I know we talked about filling in the storm water pond once we finish the demo of the plant. We are about two
weeks from being done and I wanted to know which availability was to come out on site and inspect the pond so that we
can start closing the permit and start to fill it in. My plan is to have it pump out and power washed tomorrow depending
on weather and Thursday being the backup day. I am not sure if you need to come out on site and look at it or if before
and after pictures will be fine. Please let me know if you need to come on site and look at it and if so please let me know
what days you are available after Thursday or next week. Thanks in advance with this.
Jason
