WATER G!JAU (Y WETLANDS AND STORW ATER BRA" Your comments dated November 23, 2009 have been reviewed and addressed as follows: 1. Comment: On November 16, 2009, Sue Homewood, from the Division conducted a site ? isit and performed intermittent/perennial stream determinations. The stream identified as SI was determined to be a perennial stream. The owner (or future owners) should note the Division (and other relevant agencies) of this decision in any future correspondences concerning this proper(v. This on-site determination shall expire five (5) years from the date of this letter. Response: Any future correspondence will reference the existing stream as a perennial stream. 2. Comment: Please clarify if the sewer line can be realigned so that the sewer can cross the stream at the existing crossing just downstream of the proposed crossings. This must be analyzed as a step in the Avoidance and Minimization process. Response: The area mentioned downstream of the proposed crossings is very marshy and could potentially be classified as wetlands. Additionally, the Town of Mocksville Utility Department has approved the current alignment and expressed apprehension about installing the sanitary sewer in the swampy area due to occasional flooding. The alignment you propose was analyzed and rejected for these reasons. The streambea and surrounding area will be restored to its existing state upon installation of the sanitary sewer line and there will only be a temporary disturbance of the area.
