In accordance with requirements found in Special Condition #9 of referenced Certificate 3879, Duke
Energy is requesting a review by the Division of Water Resources of the semi-annual monitoring data
submitted from 2012 thru 2019 for determination of hydrologic function and stability in streams SC8 and
SC IO associated with Phase II expansion of Craig Road Landfill, CRLF. The Certificate of Completion
for the wetland and stream impacts associated with Phase II of CRLF expansion was submitted to North
Carolina Division of Water Resources in February 2013. Phase Ii of the CRLF expansion was completed
in January 2014. Currently, there are no plans to expand the CRLF beyond the Phase II expansion.
Per Condition #9, Belews Creek must continue to conduct semi-annual monitoring of these streams until
DWR has made the requested determination. Belews Creek is requesting permission to discontinue semi-
annual monitoring of these streams.
