Director Division of Water Quality December 1, 2006 DWQ Project # 06-1657 Currituck County CERTIFIED MAIL: RETURN RECEIPT REQUESTED Ms. Linda McCown 300 Sir Walter Raleigh Street Manteo, NC 27954 Subject Property: BKS Enterprises - Barco Coinjock Bay [030154, 30-1-6, SC] REQUEST FOR MORE INFORMATION Dear Ms. McCown: On October 17, 2006, the Division of Water Quality (DWQ) received your application dated September 11, 2006, to shade 0.0739 acres of Shallow Water Habitat, occupy 0.0688 acres of Shallow Water Habitat, shade 0.0044 acres of Shallow Water Habitat, shade 0.0035 acres of Estuarine Shoreline-Coastal Wetland, shade 0.0068 acres of Estuarine Shoreline-404/Wetland, and shade 0.0157 acres of 404/Wetland, to construct a pier, platform, 10-slip dock, and an access walkway to provide water access for an 11-lot subdivision. The DWQ has determined that your application is incomplete and/or provided inaccurate information as discussed below. The DWQ will require additional information in order to process your application to impact protected wetlands and/or streams on the subject property. Therefore, unless we receive the additional information requested below, we will have to move toward denial of your application as required by 15A NCAC 2H .0506 and will place this project on hold as incomplete until we receive this additional information. Please provide the following information so that we may continue to review your project. Additional Information Requested: 1. Please conduct a Submerged Aquatic Vegetation (SAV) survey of the access channel for boat traffic to suitable depths, and submit your findings to the DWQ Please respond within three weeks of the date of this letter by sending this information to me in writing and Kyle Barnes of the DWQ Washington Regional Office. If we do not hear from you within three weeks, we will assume that you no longer want to pursue this project and we will consider the project as withdrawn. This letter only addresses the application review and does not authorize any impacts to wetlands, waters or protected buffers.
