Morning all,
DMF had some concerns with the construction methods detailed in the MP-1 form. The narrative
below changes the construction method from some barge work to completely from the uplands.
Please let me know if this changes any comments previously submitted.
Thanks,
Gregg

Mr. Bodnar,
Thank you for the information on the comments from DMF regarding shoreline SAV at the Corolla
Light Shoreline Improvements project. I have confirmed today with Bob Stoneking, project manager,
and Northeastern Marine, Inc., project contractor, that all materials for bulkhead construction will be
brought onsite via high ground through nine existing nature trails which run from public roads to the
shoreline. All nine of these trails are located on land owned by the Corolla Light Homeowners
Association and will cross neither wetlands nor any lands owned by private homeowners. The trails
have already been widened to accommodate small skid -steer loaders and forklifts that will be used
for material transport. All bulkhead construction activities will be conducted via high ground access.
There will be M barges or other vessels used for construction material transportation or construction
activities at the Corolla Light Shoreline Improvements project.
Please find attached maps showing location of the Corolla Light nature trails that are planned for
usage as equipment access. I hope that this answers the concerns from DMF and will serve to
expedite approval of this application.
Thank you and please let me know if you have any further questions.

Afternoon Mr. Elliot,
Per our conversation earlier I have attached DMF's comments. If work from land is possible please
reply to this email with a description of the activities and they would be accomplished totally via high
ground. I will pass along to DMF and keep you in the loop of their reply.
Thanks again for your time,
Gregg
